Magic the Gathering League – Information Sheet
June 7th through July 11th
1. Magic League is run in a sealed format, where participants use cards pulled directly from booster packs. Participants will record the cards they received on their deck register, and are subject to periodical checks by in store staff or judges. Paladin will provide basic land for deck construction.
2. During the four week period, Paladin staff will maintain each participant's league cards and decks and participants may only use their cards for league play. No outside cards may be used in league decks.
3. Participants who choose to leave the league will not be able to receive league cards until the league has been completed.
4. Participants may trade league cards with other league members provided they trade one card for one card, and trade cards of the same rarity level. All trades must be recorded on each participants league deck register. Foils are considered as normal cards. Please be kind to new players during trades, don’t cheat them!
5. Deck construction in weeks 1, 2, will follow Limited Format rules; Deck construction in weeks 3, and 4, will follow Standard Construction rules.
6. Participants may play other league participants at anytime Paladin is open for business. There will be also designated days or meets for league play scheduled during the week. Participants may only play the same league participant 1 time per week. There will also be a mid season tournament where league members may gain additional points or other prizes based on turnout.
7. During each match with your opponent you will play best 2 out of 3 games. You will receive 1 point for each win during a match. Participants will record the results of each match played on slips provided, and drop them in the league box. Please write your name in full and legibly or you will not receive credit for the match. Results will be tallied each week and posted on the in store board and on website Monday or Tuesday.
8. Participants who start the season late, or miss a week may catch up by purchasing packs missed. To continue in the league or play in mid season or final tournament all missed packs must be purchased.
9. Prizewinners will be posted on Monday or Tuesday. Weekly prizes will be store credit and/or other prizes and special league foil cards. Store credit prizes will be based on number of paid participants in the league for the week.
Weekly prizes will be awarded to the following winners.
*Most Overall Points: The participant with the most points for the league week
*Most Improved: The participant with the largest percentage of point gain compared to the previous week.
*Random: A randomly selected participant who did not win one of the other prizes.
